The city of Lagos, today, witnessed heavy torrential rain, with several parts of the commercial city flooded.

This development disrupted human, vehicular and commercial activities, as many cars were submerged, while thousands of commuters were seen stranded at bus-stops across the city.

In areas such as Oworonshoki, Iyana Iba on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and Oshodi, flood took over the roads, leaving many people, particularly the elderly, finding it difficult to move for fear of being swept away.

To abate the situation, the Emergency Flood Abatement Gang (EFAG) have been activated by the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources to clear some blocked channels and drainages in some parts of the city.

Operatives of EFAG cleared the flash flood at the Olopomeji section of Iyana Oworo making the road flood-free.

And following a complaint made by an X user @ARISE0214, suspected miscreants charging people money for using the makeshift crossover bridge at the Trade Fair area this morning were arrested by operatives of Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps.
