Minister of Sports, Senator John Enoh, on Wednesday, set up a seven-member committee to investigate the negative exposures the country was subjected to at the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympic Games.

Inaugurating the committee, which has Dr. Mumuni Alao, as Chairman at the media center of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja, the minister stated that as part of the terms of reference, the committee should revisit the issues which exposed the nation inappropriately, including that of Favour Ofilli and Ese Ukparense of cycling.

The committee was also mandated to wade into the doping issues surrounding some of the athletes at the Olympics and Paralympics, the contract agreement between Actively Black Company and the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), code of conduct amongst Team Nigeria members, amongst others.

Enoh charged the committee to be firm, diligent, professional, and to apportion blame no matter who is involved.

Vowing that the issues will not be swept under the carpet, Enoh expressed confidence in the ability of the committee to get the job done since members of the committee were men and women of honour and integrity.

In his response, Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Mumuni Alao thanked the minister for the opportunity to serve the nation, while assuring him that the committee will not disappoint the nation.

Other members of the committee are Aliyu Mohammed (North West), Hajia Rakiya Muhammed (North Central), Godwin Enakhena (South South), Dr. Abubakar Ango (North East), Nnene Akudo (South East) and Barrister Victor Okangbe (South South), who will serve as the Secretary.
