President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven qualified Nigerians to head strategic agencies and programmes under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
The appointments, according to the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, are aimed at facilitating the needed relief to Nigerians and ensure the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programmes.
The new Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). is Dr. Bademosi Lawal. He holds a Doctorate degree in Education, and previously served as a commissioner in Katsina State.
The new Programme Manager of the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office is Ms. Funmilola Olotu, who is a Master’s degree holder in Business Administration. Until her new appointment, she was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on State Lotteries.
Others include Ms. Aishat Alubankudi, who is the Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups, while Princess Aderemi Adebowale is the new Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding; Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam, who was appointed the Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office; Mr. Ayuba Gufwan, Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities and Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello, the new Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Imam holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and has served as chief accountant, Northern Dairies Ltd, and as a bank manager, while Gufwan holds an LLB and is the Executive Director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Jos.
The new boss of NAPTIP is a Master’s degree holder in Public Administration and had served as the Secretary-General of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, as well as Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
