The Federal Government of Nigeria Power Company (FGNPC) has announced the signing of a significant Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Financing (EPC&F) contract worth $118,148,469.72.

The deal, finalised on Wednesday in Abuja, involves a collaboration with Elsewedy Electric and Power China for the rehabilitation and construction of 2,670 kilometers of 33kV, 11kV, and 400V distribution lines across Nigeria.

The contract, which was witnessed by the Minister of [Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, marked a key development in Phase I of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI), which commenced in 2018.

The project entails the construction of 687 kilometers of new distribution lines (greenfield) and the rehabilitation of 1,983 kilometers of existing lines (brownfield).
