Following the Supreme Court’s ruling that granted full financial autonomy and also nullified the appointment of Caretaker Chairmen for local governments, the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) is set to initiate the process for conducting local government elections.
The SIEC will begin engaging with stakeholders starting Tuesday next week to prepare for the upcoming elections. According to a press statement signed by Kogi SIEC, this initial meeting is aimed at briefing political parties and other stakeholders on the election timetable and schedule.
