The Federal Government and the Organised Labour led by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have reached an agreement on a new national minimum wage.
At a late night meeting in Abuja between top officials of the government and labour leaders, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, disclosed that President Bola Tinubu is committed to a higher wage than the N60,OOO it earlier proposed, but which was rejected by labour leaders.
Akume further revealed that a tripartite committee would meet everyday until an agreeable national minimum wage is arrived at.
No mention was, however, made whether the ongoing strike has been called off.
