Group Chief Executive Officer, Airtel Africa, Segun Ogunsanya, is retiring from the multinational mobile telecommunications company, effective tomorrow.
Until his appointment as Group CEO of Airtel Africa, the African subsidiary that includes all the 14 Sub-Saharan African markets in April 2021, Ogunsanya was the CEO of Airtel Nigeria.
His impressive career trajectory spanned stints at Coca Cola Ghana where he served as General Manager and Chief Executive and later as the CEO of Coca-Cola Sabco, Kenya in 2010. He was also the Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking operations of Ecobank Transnational Inc. from 2008 to 2009.
He was the Managing Director at Nigerian Bottling Company Plc from September 2011 to December 2012, from where he joined the Nigerian operation of Bharti Airtel in November 2021 as the CEO.
