the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and other Trade Unions, this morning, picketed the Head Office of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the offices of Electricity Distribution Companies across the country in protest against the hike in electricity tariff.
President of NLC, Joe Ajaero, who led other members of Organised Labour to picket the headquarters of NERC in Abuja, were however prevented from gaining access into the premises of the regulatory agency by security agents.
In other state capitals, state chairmen of NLC and the TUC mobilised workers to seal off the offices of the electricity distribution companies.
