The former Minister of Aviation,  Hadi Sirika has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N8.069 billion money laundering fraud.
Sirika was at the EFCC office in Abuja on the invitation of the EFCC on Tuesday afternoon.
Sirika is being questioned over alleged fraudulent contracts he authorised for a company owned by his younger sibling, Abubakar Sirika.
Festus Keyamo, the current Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, had hinted in January that Sirika was being investigated by the EFCC on the controversial Nigeria Air deal.
“The EFCC is investigating that deal. There is a criminal investigation going on. I have called for the report,” the minister had said.
