Billionaire businessman, Sayyu Dantata’s reported plans to relocate to his home state of Kano has been put on hold, albeit temporarily.
The oil tycoon, who runs MRS Oil and Gas weeks ago, put his multi-billion mansion on Banana Island, the famed billionaires’ haven in Ikoyi area of Lagos State up for sale at an undisclosed sum. The sprawling mansion, valued at over N5billion naira, is however yet to get an interested buyer almost one month after Dantata finally made up his mind to move to Kano, which would serve as his new operational base.
Half-brother of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, the business savvy Dantata, aside his prodigious exploits in the business world, is also a Pilot and owns a chopper, which he flies personally around Lagos.
He is one of Nigeria’s biggest players in the oil and gas industry. Through his investment holding company, MRS Africa Holdings, Dantata holds a commanding 60-percent stake, equivalent to 205,730,806 ordinary shares in MRS Oil Nigeria. The company is a key player in Nigeria’s petroleum industry, specialising in refined products such as PMS, gasoline, marine and aviation fuel.
